Six months into my work as Jasper’s first Director of Urban Design and Standards, I spent some time with CBC News’ Acton Clarkin, talking about how rebuilding Jasper could alleviate Jasper’s long-standing housing shortage. (Here’s the article.) Thinking about housing beyond a single detached dwelling—and having more housing options for residents— is within our grasp.
“What do we want to do as a community to make sure that there are homes for people that need homes in Jasper – and homes that are affordable? We don’t know yet how much of that discussion the community is ready for or receptive to. So that’s our work in the coming months.”
