Street Corner Visiting

How can the pandemic increase the capacity of the city?

How can we be physically distant from each other and socially proximate? This is what is what the coronavirus pandemic is asking of us.

I’ve long been struggling with how we can gather in ways that are socially proximate. When we gather at conferences, for example, we are physically close, but socially separate as we sit and listen to the expert sage on the stage. I’ve had what I call “a keynote itch” that needs to be scratched. And it will work both face-to-face and online. I call it Street Corner Visiting.

The experiment starts on Tuesday March 24, 2020.

The experiment starts on Tuesday, March 24, 2020.

What you need to know:

  • When: Tuesday March 24, 2020 at noon PST

  • Where: Zoom. Call-in details are in the Integral Nest City Mighty Networks community, on the events page.

  • What to expect: Our hour will start with a wee introduction to the topic, and a question to guide the conversation. After that, we’ll let Zoom randomly put us in little “Street Corner Groups,” where we’ll meet people we know, and new folks too. All are people we will enjoy. We’ll do this twice, then check back in with each other, and then walk along into the rest of our day.

The two questions will guide us on Tuesday:

  1. How can the coronavirus pandemic increase the capacity of the city?

  2. What do I wish to contribute to my community/city?

To participate, please visit the Integral Nest City Mighty Networks community, on the events page.
